3:55 AMThis is why people stopped using Yahoo and Prefer Google!
MICROSOFT INTERNET SEARCH AND ADVERTISING PORTAL Yahoo is seeking missing email messages that were sent but lost during downtime at its services.
Yahoo email services popped off the internet late in the evening on Monday and remained in the wilderness for about three hours while engineers looked to dig it out from whatever hole it had fallen into.
Unfortunately some emails went down the plughole, and Yahoo has been looking for it with a view to restoring it. Some users have been without email service since Monday.Yahoo has been apologetic in its messages and it has posted up a few.
"We're very sorry for recent difficulties with Yahoo Mail. Some of our users haven't been able to access their mail since 10:27 PM PT on Monday night, due to a hardware problem in one of our mail data centers. The issue has been harder to fix than we originally expected. We have dozens of people working around the clock to bring it to a resolution," it said in its first update. At that stage it reckoned that all would be fixed the same day.
Problems stretched on, however, and are still continuing for some users. The latest message from Yahoo is not an all-clear.
POP email service has been restored, but IMAP is still having problems. Yahoo said that it is in the process of delivering errant messages, and is about a third of the way there. Some users might find that they do not have all the messages they are expecting. Yahoo expects all the email to make its way home by later today. Now you wonder why Yahoo aint nothing no more? And everyone likes Google its safer and smarter now thats a yahoo!lol
